At AmericaneLiquidStore.com, we offer 30+ of the best eLiquid flavors available. Everything from traditional tobacco flavors to fruity and fun flavors have all be expertly crafted by our taste testers. However, we know that there are hundreds of flavor possibilities. While we work on perfecting each new flavor one at a time, you might want to mix up a few of your own creations. Here’s how you can do it!
First off, you’re going to need materials. This means getting a hold of a base liquid, some flavoring and of course, the proper amount of nicotine for your concoction. Luckily, all of these things are available from AmericaneLiquidStore.com and are fairly cheap! Aside
from the essential ingredients, you might also want to think about investing in a few bottles to mix and store your custom flavors. Amber, glass bottles and plastic mixing bottles are also available from AmericaneLiquidStore.com in various sizes.
Please note that you cannot legally buy nicotine that is not already premixed with a base liquid. All of our nicotine comes premixed with either VG or PG.
Now, on to the fun part! When you’ve got all of your materials, you need to figure out the proper ratio of what to mix. There are different ratios everywhere on the Web based on what type of flavor you’re trying to make and the intensity of the flavor you want to taste. Anywhere from 10% to 30% flavoring should be effective in an eLiquid mixture. Here’s a handy reference guide for judging your percentage of flavoring:
10% Flavor – Best suited for potent flavors like menthol, clove and coffee. These flavors are stronger and will give you a more potent vape, even at lower levels.
15% Flavor – Still on the lower end of potency, this level is for those who like the more
potent flavors, like cherry or mentho-mint, but at a higher intensity.
20% Flavor – This is the median for flavoring. Most flavorings will work best at around 20%, unless you’re someone who wants a high intensity.
25%+ Flavor – Anything higher than 25% flavoring means you’re really going to taste it. Many people find these higher levels unpleasant, but there are also a few people who enjoy a higher level of flavor in their vape.
Anything over 30% flavoring in your eLiquids can begin to cause problems for your mix. As you increase the flavor ratio, you could also begin to corrupt the taste and composition of your experiment, leaving it unable to be vaped.
It’s also important to choose your base liquid. VG and PG are easy to obtain and make the perfect base for any do-it-yourself project. But, it’s important to remember that even though they’re similar, VG and PG have their differences.
First of all, PG can leave a sweet aftertaste that might alter some of your flavors, leaving them sweeter than you originally planned. Also, some people have a sensitivity to PG, which can give your mixture a bad taste or overwhelming essence.
VG also has a minor drawback: it’s thicker than PG. This is easily fixed by diluting your mixture with distilled water or flavorings. But, if you forget to thin out your VG, it could clog up your atomizer and cause trouble for you!
