There have been so many great advances in technology over the last decade that it’s hard to keep track of where they all came from! Sure, everyone knows where iPods came from, but do you know where the eCigarette and eLiquid began? As with most great inventions, credit can be given to a number of contributors over time. But, if we had to narrow it down, there’s one man who stands out as being the “father” of modern eCigs and eLiquid: Dr. Sam Han.
An extremely heavy smoker for more than 40 years, Dr. Han smoked anywhere from three to five packs of the cigarettes daily at one point in his life! After realizing the magnitude of the unhealthy habit that he had fallen so hard into, Dr. Han began to research alternative smoking solutions as a way to quit analog cigarettes. After failing to quit many times, he began to work on the first model of an eCigarette and the rest is history! Now, Dr. Han owns and operates the largest, most comprehensive electronic cigarette manufacturing plant in the world.
But Sam Han wasn’t always a doctor and didn’t always have an interest in alternative smoking methods. His path started with his graduation from Chongqing University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He started work in a machinery factory as worker for five years, then as an engineer for another five years up until 1979. It wasn’t until the mid 1980′s that Dr. Han came to the United States where he began work at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It was here that the first indications of eCigs began to take shape.
Dr. Han holds several patents in the United States for his work in electronic cigarettes. He also continues to research and develop new technologies that streamline eCigs and eLiquid. After conquering his own addiction, Dr. Sam Han has made it his mission to help others overcome their own analog cigarette habits by constantly improving on his eCig designs.
