Smoking in public is going the way of the dinosaur thanks to numerous non-smoking bills and government pieces of legislation. Now, even bars and restaurants prohibit smoking! As a result of this, electronic cigarette use has been on the rise. Why? Because using electronic cigarettes isn’t considered smoking; therefore it’s allowed in many places that smoking is not:
Many companies don’t have any rules or regulations that specifically allow or ban vaping, but there are quite a few policies that dictate people’s perception of vaping in public. What we mean is that vaping is subjective to many businesses. For example, you might not be allowed to vape on a train or a plane, but other places, like fast food joints and convenience stores might be wholly more accepting.
Places that sell eCigs and eCig accessories are almost always friendly to vapers and will allow the use of electronic cigarettes in their facilities. Convenience stores and gas stations are prime examples of this. Depending on stores in your area, you might enjoy a casual vape while you shop!
Another thing to keep in mind when vaping in public places is the types of people around you. If you’re somewhere where smoking or vaping is generally frowned upon, like a movie theater, you might want to avoid having a vape! However, if you’re sipping coffee and reminiscing with a friend, it might be an ideal place to vape.
One last thing you can do before puffing on your eCig in public is to consult the management of wherever you might be. Some places will appreciate your honesty and be open to reason when you explain your eCig. Others might ask that you don’t vape. Either way, you’re better off making sure before just doing; it’s respectful and honest.
If all else fails, you can always try Googling a specific venue’s policy on electronic cigarettes. It’s as easy as typing “Company’s name electronic cigarette policy.” Chances are there is a document out there that can help you better understand a company’s stance on vaping.
