What’s In A Cigarette?

On of the main reasons why so many people decide to quit smoking is because they finally find out what’s in the cigarette they’re used to smoking. In some cases, you might be amazed at what you’re inhaling each time you take a drag. We’ve compiled a short list of a few things that you’d definitely want to know about if you’re putting them in your body:

Ammonia: Found in household cleaners
Arsenic: Used in rat poisons, deadly to humans
Benzene: Used to make dyes and other goods like synthetic rubber
Butane: A volatile gas used in lighter fluid
Carbon monoxide: Poisonous gas
Cyanide: Deadly poisonous element
DDT: A banned insecticide
Lead: A poisonous element in high doses (think lead paint)
Formaldehiyde: Used to preserve dead people
Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element

As if these few examples weren’t enough! The regular list of cigarette ingredients spans to nearly 4,000 ingredients depending on the company you’re dealing with. Often times there are several cancer causing ingredients, as well as poisons and harmful compounds. Tar is another main ingredient that’s used to give cigarettes their flavor; and the average pack per day smoker inhales about a cup of tar each year!

As you might have read in our last blog post, the chief function of a cigarette is to be a nicotine delivery device. And, nicotine is the active ingredient in both cigarettes and eLiquid.
