Tobacco is universally controlled throughout the United States by the FDA, with the exception of pricing and where it can be used. These factors are usually determined by the states that we live in. eCigs on the other hand, aren’t currently controlled by the FDA, meaning there are very few restrictions that control how they’re sold, used or purchased. Knowing how your state views eCigarettes is important to take into account, so that you’re aware of where you can use them, buy them or sell them. How does your state support eCigs?
Delaware has been hailed as one of the most friendly states towards people using eCigs. The state has a different stance on eCigs than many other states because here, electronic cigarettes are seen as a way to help people quit smoking. Although there is no scientific fact to currently back this up, Delaware has decided that eCigarettes are the way of the future: so if people want to use them in place of a traditional cigarette, they’re more than welcome to.
Many other states have also taken the route that Delaware has, but haven’t fully accepted this smoking alternative 100% yet. Massachusetts and Maryland have also been noted to be very friendly towards electronic cigarette users. What sets Delaware apart is the fact that many restaurants, bars and clubs condone eCigarettes, even when smoking is banned.
States like Wisconsin fall in the middle of the pack when it comes to acceptance of electronic cigarettes. Wisconsin allows the use of electronic cigarettes in many places, but there have also been places that prohibit them citing smoking to be the same as a smoking alternative. Many states fall into this category: not as accepting of electronic cigarettes as Delaware and those states, but not as harsh as states like Nevada.
Nevada has been known to view electronic cigarettes in almost the exact same way as traditional cigarettes. This means that eCigs aren’t usually welcome in public places, bars, restaurants or anywhere else that smoking is prohibited. This doesn’t necessarily mean that there is a negative opinion of eCigarettes in states like Nevada; it just means that much of there time there is nothing that separates eCigarettes from smoking in their legislation.
