They’re not difficult to understand or use, but there are a few things that you might want to learn about before you pick up an electronic cigarette and start puffing away – things that could save you time, money and frustrations. Cartomizer Burning Tips

A common issue we hear from new electronic cigarette owners is that their cartomizers are burning when they use them, creating a burnt taste and smell. Don’t worry, you’re probably not in possession of a defective batch of cartomizers (although it could happen!) –  you might just have misfilled your cart. Don’t feel bad! It’s a common mistake that happens all the time. The trick is knowing exactly how much to fill in order to avoid burning.

With most cartomizers, AmericaneLiquidStore customer service representatives (and long time vapers themselves) recommend 25 to 30 drops of eLiquid. This is enough liquid to properly circulate throughout the cartomizer when you’re vaping, yet not so much that you won’t be able to draw a good vapor. Which brings us to another common problem…

Flooding

Where too little eLiquid can cause burning, too much eLiquid can cause flooding. Flooding happens when too much eLiquid is dripped into an eCig or filled into a cartridge and it seeps into the atomizer causing clogging. With all of that liquid in the atomizer, you can’t properly wick and thus can’t use your eCig!

To prevent flooding, just follow the same rules as with burning – fill properly and you’ll be in the clear when it comes to proper use. This can save you a bunch of money when it comes to replacing your atomizer or cartomizer and get you started on good filling habits right from the get-go.

Dead Batteries

Batteries are fickle things when it comes to anything, especially electronic cigarettes. Many times, people tend to think that their battery is dead or defective when it’s really just in need of a good charge. Take this scenario for example:

You receive a new kit in the mail and are very excited to use your new e Cigarette – how ever when you go to use it, nothing happens. When you push the button and inhale, you don’t hear any noise and nothing appears to be happening.

In this situation, some people might send the eCig back as a defective return. Before jumping to conclusions - try charging it! Chances are, it’ll come back to life with a single charge and work perfectly for you.
